Visits included The Legacy Museum in Montgomery, Alabama

Students in Ashley George’s Experiencing Cultural Differences course (COMS 305) participated in several experiential learning opportunities in the fall, including a Global Poverty Simulation, visits to the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute and The Birmingham Museum of Art, where they engaged with exhibits that showcased the representation of subcultures and marginalization, both in the city of Birmingham and globally. Other class and individual visits included The Legacy Museum in Montgomery, a Dia De Los Muertos festival, Greek Festival and Shabbat services at Beth Hallel synagogue in Birmingham.
