Samford sociology students Allison Ambler and Brooke Perez-Bissell tied for second place in the undergraduate paper session at the Mid-South Sociological Association conference Oct. 24-26. Ambler presented original research on The Influence of Religiosity on the Opinion of Prayer in Public School. Perez-Bissell presented original research on Choice and the Church.
“When my students win a competitive award like this, it is just icing on the cake of an overall amazing experience for them,” said Theresa Davidson, director of Samford’s sociology program. “They get to network with other sociology students, sociology faculty, and they are always excited to learn about the varied research that is happening in the discipline.”
