Two groups of Samford psychology majors published articles in the Psi Chi Journal of Undergraduate Research. Ke Fang, Meredith Henry, and Holli Sconyers published the article "Effects of Perceived Religiosity on Judgments of Social Competence toward Individuals with Mental Illness" in the Winter 2008 issue. Julie Yonts, Cara Pruitt, and Katie Robertson published the article "Perceived Psychological Well-being of Children from Divorced and Non-divorced Families" in the Summer 2009 issue. The Psi Chi Journal of Undergraduate Research is published by Psi Chi, the national honor society for psychology, and showcases the best in undergraduate research.

The students completed their research as part of the PSYC 306 Research Methods course. They conducted the research and prepared the articles for publication under the supervision of Dr. Jackie Goldstein, who is also a co-author on the articles.
