Elizabeth (Liz) Spiller, a native of Tuscaloosa, AL, graduated from the University of Alabama with a B.A. in Deaf Education, completed the Interpreter Training Program, became a licensed American Sign Language interpreter through the National Association for the Deaf, and continues to work in various settings across the country. 

While Liz spends a lot of time working in educational settings teaching and interpreting. She also works in medical, legal, and community settings interpreting for various assignments including the Franklin Graham Crusade, Steven Curtis Chapman, Heather Whitestone, the Pentagon, and more.  

She moved to Birmingham in 2014 with her three boys and began teaching ASL in Samford’s Critical Languages Program in 2019. When not interpreting or teaching, Liz enjoys singing and playing the piano, cooking, gardening, and playing tennis.
