Chelsea Bruno joined the Samford faculty in 2024 after earning her PhD at the University of Florida. She is passionate about helping college students develop the theoretical and practical skills they will need as successful communicators, no matter where their careers lead them. Bruno also serves as the faculty advisor for Samford University's chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF).
Bruno’s research interests are at the intersection of media and family communication. Specifically, she studies how families are portrayed in entertainment content, as well as the ways real family members navigate and discuss their media consumption. Bruno has presented research on families and media at national and international conferences and has published in journals such as New Media and Society, Journal of Family Communication, Journal of Broadcasting and Electronic Media, Communication Studies, and Mass Communication and Society.
