Kice Brown joined Samford’s Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry in 2025 after completing his BS in chemistry at Mississippi College and his PhD in chemistry at Baylor University. His doctoral research as a synthetic, inorganic chemist involved studying low-coordinate transition metal complexes and intermetallic compounds. Brown has authored peer review articles that appear in Chemical Communications, The Journal of Alloys and Compounds and Zeitschrift fur Anorganische und Allgemeine Chemie. He has also written a book chapter for Volume 64 of the Handbook on the Physics and Chemistry of Rare Earths.
Brown enjoys spending his free time with his wife, Tatum, and their son, Wilson. When he can, Brown loves getting outdoors into nature, whether that be running, hiking, or camping.
