Connie Macon Rhea holds a Master of Music in Piano Pedagogy from Southern Methodist University (Dallas, TX) as well as a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Samford University. In addition to teaching piano at the Samford Academy of the Arts, she also teaches class and applied piano for university students in the Samford School of the Arts. She is currently Coordinator of Arts for the Academy of the Arts and Adjunct Music Faculty for the School of the Arts. She has served as Executive Director of the Academy of the Arts from 2014-2020 and was previously Director of Samford Preparatory Music Department from 1989 – 2014. She has over 40 years of experience teaching private lessons, group lessons and classroom instruction to students of all ages and levels, preschool through adult. In the musical community, Mrs. Rhea is a member of the following music teacher organizations: BMTA, MTNA (nationally certified), AMTA, MMF. She has served as president of BMTA and MMF, co-chair of Hymn and Piano Solo Festivals at Samford University, Co-Chair of the Sonata/Sonatina Competition, and on the AMTA State Board.
