Russell Galloway is a Spanish literature Ph.D. student at the University of Alabama. Prior to this, he taught K-12 Spanish at Christian schools in the Washington, D.C. area.  In the classroom, he “uses Spanish to teach Spanish,” even at beginner levels, to maximize input in the target language. Likewise, he encourages students to “use Spanish to learn Spanish,” equipping them to express need and ask for help as they practice speaking, listening and writing. His overall goal is to provide practical instruction which helps students to flourish in “real-life” Spanish speaking environments. Russell began teaching at the Samford Academy of the Arts in January 2023.
